All modern processors has a safety feature that shuts down the computer once the processor reaches a certain temperature, to ensure that the processor is not damaged.
Typically the processor overheats if the air intake vents are blocked - either if you are using the computer on a pillow, blanket etc. which restricts the air flow into the fans or because the fans are blocked by dust.
If you are up for it, I would suggest that you clean the fan. The procedure is not that complicated and can be done by almost anyone :) As an example, you could follow this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv8rZYut...
