wow - let's give apple the "mercy award" for their great customer service - kiddin. i'm not an apple basher - but their customer service is horrible. i'm not geek enough to accept that i have to make an appointment with a so called "genius", i can not accept that it is normal to buy something like "apple care" for a computer that was overpriced in the first place (and the apple care costs alomst 40% of a "normal" computer that does the same job). i love os x - it's a fantastic os, i like the design of apple devices - but the quality is sometimes horrible. but if you ever heard something about the quality control at foxconn - then you know why there are so many problems with some devices. some problems seem to be "accepted" by many users (and "wanted" the company that sells them every year a new device)

that is bad - but at least you can see it when there is light.

It looks that there really no parts available (from iFixit) to help you with your repair. Short of finding a broken wire or cold solderjoint there does not seem to be much you can do.
