Touch screen is not recognizing my touch/commands

I used the itouch 4gen repair guide. bought the parts and seem to have no problem to after connecting the copper wire(guess its the LCD). Once I powered on the device I see the screen fine.

The only problem is the itouch will not recognize my fingers. I have swiped, touched and nothing happens.

I clipped in the black tape(guess the digitizer tape) to the logic board and made sure it did not fall out. secured the metal plate back on and turned it on. Whats wrong?

The digitiser cable is not fitted securely when you think it is seed correctly place the motherboard back in its place then directly above were the digitiser was plugged in push down on the motherboard this will snap the connecter in place you should hear it connect in place
