iPhone will not turn on after dead battery.

My screen cracked about a week ago (lcd and digitizer) right before i went on a vacation, so i just left it at home. i went to a local store to get it fixed a week later, and they fixed it but it wouldn't charge or power on. I left it on the charger from about 5 pm until the next morning, and i still have the icon that says low battery.It is saying that a charger is connected, but it won't power up after hours and hours of charging.

please help

I would first start by replacing the battery..

What sort of repair shop changes a lcd without even having the phone powered up first to make sure it's working ok before and after the repair??
