Sheila McGriff, the front sensor, located in exhaust manifold, it is accessible from top of engine after first removing the exhaust manifold heat shield. You will need a crow's foot socket (7/8") in order to remove the sensor. They are available at any parts store. Check this video for more instructions. Hope this helps, good luck

Sheila McGriff, make sure that the sensor is bad before changing it. Just because there is a code for the O2 sensor, doesn't necessarily mean a bad sensor. Sometimes a code means the sensor is not reading the correct mix in the exhaust stream which can be caused by many other things. This is a mistake that a lot of mechanics and DIYers make. It depends on the code. Do you have the code written down? Is it a heater circuit code or a too lean or too rich code? You'll need to know this to make a proper repair.

I have the same issue which has been diagnosed as O2 sensor twice by 2 difference auto electricians/mechanics but mechanic never mentioned there were different types of codes for different errors, just that it was O2 sensor?

I have similar problem, it is a heater circuit issue, does this mean I need a new sensor?

by

A heater circuit code may lead to a O2 sensor replacement or it might be in the vehicle wiring. You would need to check for continuity across the heater in the sensor. Also check for voltage in the heater circuit wiring. If there is no continuity on the sensor heater, then the sensor needs to be replaced. If there is continuity, check the wiring for voltage and ground. Repair as necessary.
