Why doesn't my Dell Latitude D830 display power on?

Hi

I have a latitude labptop d830 recently work fine but just now the display is not on. the boost up process is working the display is not, Iam not sure what is happening can anyone know how to fix it please help, thanks. Jack

Jack tang, the very first thing I would do is to connect an external display. If that works you at least know your GPU is working properly. If it does not, you have some motherboard issues. If it is, check your inverter, LVDS cable and last the LCD. You can check the inverter by angling a flashlight against the LCD and see if you can make out your desktop. Download the service manual for your computer model from here. Hope this helps, good luck.
