dscassa2, sounds like you are having backlight trouble. Of course you tried to increase your brightness and have tried a restore already. right? If that did not work, you will have to spend a bit of time and money. Start with the LCD, since it will be a bit easier than soldering, and is not to expensive right here or the whole assembly from here There is a video that might help you make a decision on youtube. If your backlight should still not work, test the 6R8 coil. Use this video or this one and see if it is time to change that coil. Now, if a coil replacement does not resolve your issue, there is still the possibility that it is your backlight IC 109B that is giving you the trouble. That will be harder to replace and will require special tools and techniques. Hope this helps, good luck.
