I have a similar problem. Just replaced home button flex on iphone 4s. Reassembled every part in place. No click.. When I unscrew the last screws in the corner a little space o[ens up between the front screen and frame. Now it does click. Somehow I lost the space to make the button click. I checked every little part but cant find anything that would bring the outer home button and the inner flex 'button (the thing that clicks) closer together.

Take a look at the back of the plastic button and make sure you have the metal spacer on the button.

You have messed something up when transferring the home button over .. I would buy a new home button flex this will fix the issue
