Why does my ps3 crash?

I have a ps3 I purchased brand new in 2009. Lately it has been crashing, all of a sudden it shuts off and beeps 3 times. I have to push the power button to turn it back on. When I do it it says the system wasn't turned off properly. I'm trying to figure out why it started and why it's happening more and more often. I take it apart and clean it regularly. I have tried rebuilding the database and restoring the file system.

reinstall os and try all options available in safe mode if nothing works try a new hard drive its rare that your ps3 might have the clod on my 60gb ps3 it did that before it got the ylod

In how long of a span of time? It started in april when I downloaded COD Ghosts and it crashes EVERY TIME I try to play it. I thought it was just the game at first and quit playing, but now it happens often and randomly. Sometimes before the home screen even finishes loading. Also the disc reader went out, not sure if it's related but figured it's a good time to mention that.
