Why is the keyboard not working on Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T?
Device:
Acer Aspire 3810T series Netbook
Windows 7
1.4 intel
4 GB of RAM
Hello I am hoping someone can help. I am sorry if my English is not the best.
I am working on this device for the friend of my grandmothers, so she can videochat with her grandson faraway.
The keyboard does not work on the device however.
I understand a USB keybaord will work. I have tested it and it is fine with one. But the keyboard on the actual notebook is not functional. Only the z, s, d,' ,and l are the working ones I have seen using notepad for testing.
This is also a replacement keyboard from the original. Another person tried replacing it before for the same problem, but when it did not work, she came to me, but I normally work on Apples and I dont know as much about PC's.
What I have done so far is update the software, I also legalized her version of windows 7 (I was nt sure if having an invalid copy of the OS was causing trouble for it), I also took out the battery, replaced the old keyboard to see what the difference would be and nothing so I re-replaced it with the new keyboard.
I am not sure what else to do. The problem persists, but is there some thing I am missing to do? Should I go deeper into the computer? I would be greatful for advice or guidance. Or should I just tell her that using a USB keyboard would save her the most money for the fix?
I could not find a guide on this website for this particular device. Are there any models in the guides section that are similar? I am just working on this from what I know in my head.
The lady says she doesnot want to spend more than 50$ to fix. I am not sure what do.
Thank you for any help, even if it is just a small amount.
Is this a good question?
