iPhone wont charge but will turn on when plugged in.

I just replaced the charge port and battery on an IPhone 4 and the iphone still wont charge. If turned off and it is plugged in it will turn on and stay on if the battery has life but will not charge. Any suggestions of what the cause could be or possible solutions.

Was that the reason why you originally changed the dock connector and the battery, because it was not charging?
