SOLVED - DVD Drive could not be found Error -70012

Replaced the optical drive with a second hard drive using your FULL kit. Using your usb plug for the optical drive as an external drive seems to be a problem. The computer works with the optical drive as an external drive but the application DVD player is unable to initialize it therefore it will not play anything in the drive. Mechanically the drive works. Nothing gets stuck etc. Rebooting and using a different usb port makes no difference.

Error is-

A valid DVD drive could not be found. Error -70012

So, how do you get the DVD application to recognize the media that's in the drive?

Thanks

Peter

SOLVED-

The MAC DVD player option needed to be change from looking at an Internal optical drive to a External optical drive. The problem and fix is outlined in article at cnet. The link is below and the fix worked for me.
