i have a 2005 macbook that wont upgrade ios, it has a core duo processor but it needs a core 2 duo changed out to upgrade ios, will i have to change motherboard to accept the new processor?

Sadly, your MacBook won't run the latest version of OS-X. There is no upgrade path for your hardware. It's time to get a new system

I think you are looking at upgrading the OS to OS-X, not iOS on your system.
