Plays movies; will not play games

I bought a PSP at a second hand store. The unit plays movies, but it will not play games. I've tried to update the firmware.

Every game I try to play says to update the firemware; which never complete successfully.

I think, at some point, it was hacked. I don't know how to restore it so I can play games on it.

Hi,

First check your firmware version. The last one is 6.60.

You can do the update by WiFi:

http://us.playstation.com/support/system...

or using a PC:

http://us.playstation.com/support/system...

or from the UMD game disk:

http://us.playstation.com/support/system...

But UMD disk contained the latest firmware available at the time of the software (Game) release.

I recommend update by WiFi.

And do update only with plugged in charger!!!

Regards.
