briggs and stratton 17 hp ohv valve specs
I'm looking for what the valve setting spec are on a 2003 Model 31C777, Type 0173E1 (17 Hp) motor.

Jeff, double check your numbers. I believe it should be 31C777-0173-E1 which makes your engine a MODEL 310000 VERTICAL SERIES
Valve Clearance – Intake .003 - .005 in. (.08 - .13 mm)
Valve Clearance – Exhaust .005 - .007 in. (.13 - .18 mm)

I have a 17.5 ohv briggsandstratton . Need to know the valve adjustment on it please. When I hit the key it turns over maybe one then it will not turn over anymore. Take the plug out and it turns over just fine.

Michael, You really should have posted this as a question if you wanted a answer, as not too many ifixit volunteers would look at comments on old post. Not knowing the engine model#, I have posted a link below to tell you what the valve,s should be set at using your model#, and a video showing how to.
