running slow and freezes

My tablet is running really slow and my 1 downloaded app keeps freezing. I have done a factory reset but still doesnt cure it. The only downloaded app I have on this The Simpsons Tapped Out, and that freezes and resets all the time. When I have tried to go into the pre installed app's, the tablet runs very slow.....is there a way of getting this back up to speed.

Options

Make sure you force-quit all applications running in the backround.

This is partly why I am an Apple guy...;)

Thanks for this Jonny, but had been factory reset and all applications were force closed....
