I pod cannot turn on to the main menu

Why my i pod can not connect to the i tunes and now always ask update software from i tunes but can not connect to the i tunes???

My I pod generation 5 is i pod classic 80Giga. Before I was copy songs from iPod to my computer but iwas wrong when click the mouse to be paste to my iPod again until double songs in my iPod and then I delete some songs in my i pod after thet i turn off my i pod. when I turn on my i pod now always asking for restore to the itune by connect internet. the problem is my i pod cannot read on i tunes my computer??

did you try to make a hard reset ? here is the support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320

try to reset it and after that we will go further

What iPod generation do you have ?

anything happend in the past ? (dropped, water damage..)

try to clean the dock connector with a soft paintbrush

ok this is wahat you should do. you should press menu button and middle button same time about 6 to 10 sec and wait for apple sign come show up and you can see a main menu again.
