Replaced cracked glass on iPhone now menu button will not work?

I recently replaced a cracked glass on my friends iPhone that they got had run over or something (how your iPhone ends up under the wheel of a car i don't know) everything worked perfectly before i replaced the glass but now the menu button doesn't work, could i have missed something while reconnecting everything or what?

What iPhone gerneration is it ?

and yes - you could missed something - but since the iPhones are different it would be great if you can tell us which one it is

Its a 3rd Gen

there are 2 metal contacts on the display assembly - if one of those contacts is bent or broken, the home button would not work. so open it again and check the contact from the homebutton to the dock connector
