How do I fix the trackpad screw after it has fallen out?

I may have over tightened that actual trackpad screw, however the screw fell out and I have tried numerous ways to get it to go back in. It doesn't seem to screw in. either that or I am doing it in the wrong. Is it possible to reinstall the trackpad screw after it has fallen out?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Troy,

The trackpad screw does nothing more then a setting the right distance between the actual switch and the trackpad. You should be able to just put it back in.

However, if you overtightened it and it fell out, you probably bent some of the metal of either the screw or the screw hole.

If you look at it closely, can you tell if the threads are intact? If not, try filing them in the right shape again. But be careful, you don't want any filings ending up in your MacBook!

Good luck!
