Foam Between LCD and Digitizer?

When I removed the front panel assembly there was a bit of foam that seemed to separate between the LCD and the front panel. Is this a part that I need to place or will it come on my new front panel and something I need to remove from the LCD frame.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I just replaced the touch screen on a ipad2 and the replacement one did not come with it. it seems just fine without. I do suggest replacing the wifi antenna though. It rips easy and is stuck to the glass.

Most screens will not come with the foam, you will need to order that as a separate part. I always put on new foam on my iPad repairs.

where do i find this foam.. Im having a problem there the old and the new digitizer do not respond well to touch in certain areas. Old digitizer freaked out and had a mind of its own.. new digitizer has touch issues on some parts of the glass.. like its shorting out. the lcd has been cleaned many times and that thin layer of foam is almost gone.. and replacement digitizers dont have it included. Thanks
