Will NOT charge, tried new charging port and cable

ok guys, i recently sent an original apple housing off to be triple platted in 24kt gold. I get the housing back and swap everything out ( Ive done at least 10 iPhone 5 complete tear downs with no problems after putting it back together ) and later that night i realize my phone will not charge. the next day i take it apart and try a new charging port and still no luck, tried a new battery and still nothing. Gold is a great conductor of electricity so it should be touching the housing just fine? Ive even tried putting it back in the original black housing and still it will not charge..... I'm out of ideas here.. i really hope i don't have to buy another phone. any ideas would be greatly appreciated !
