Clips on RAM slot snapped

I was replacing the RAM in my macbook and accidentally broke the tabs that hold the RAM in place. I managed to get the RAM to stay in place and occasionally my MAC works but every few days it will give me RAM beep errors.

So i take the RAM out and replace it again getting it to stay and it works normally again. As you can imagine it gets annoying having to carry a screwdriver around just to refit the RAM after getting Error Beeps

I have been looking online to see if this is a part that can be replaced...as of yet no luck

i wanted to know if there is anything i can do. ( i am writing this post on the MAC in question!!!hehe)

Ouch! Yes, its possible for someone with the proper SMT equipment & skills to replace the socket housing. The issue is cost Vs replacing the logic board with a used one. You maybe able to locate a used logic board which will be cheaper than the repair.

The only issue here is you may want to find someone to do it for you that has the tools and the skills as you don't want to break the replacement board do you ;-}
