How do you fix error message and noise?

I have taken this wii apart 3 times now and am still unable to troubleshoot this problem. The menu and stuff will work but when you put a disk in, it will start spinning, but when it tries to read it, it makes a noise that repeats. The best way I can explain the noise is "cli-chunk cli-chunk cli-chunk" (I have looked on YouTube but find only grinding noises from bent metal, I also tried cleaning the lens twice with no success and it was not dirty inside showing it wasn't used much before it broke). After about 20-25 repetitions of the cli-chunk sound it says "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting" I am thinking it might be a motor for the disc drive lens based on the noise, but I don't know how to see what it is doing when it is running if i don't have a clear disc to put in.

Please reply ideas, suggestions, or fixes you have.

You're optical drive has sagged into the games reach. Open it and pop it back up with a flathead and it'll be good as new!

Im still searching but i later found another user say that you clean the lens manualy (yes, open it up) because it jumpin all around that sh** trying to find the disc because it's currently blind.

No I tried cleaning the lens, multiple times, plus the noise doesn't show that the lens is even able to move.

Ok, final atempt at being helpful. Somebody said they found the laser pot. I have no idea where that is but it will help to turn it up. The other thing is that your laser may have burnt out. I had min since 2008 and mine was a dust pocket. That and i cleaned it a million times in one night with no luck so i feel you but still, refer to the last couple of sentences.

Any further explanation for this fix would be appreciated! I have the same problem. Is the tech saying to open the optical drive?

Did you ever figure out how to fix this problem, I have the exact same problem, tried to clean it out (wasn't that dirty), I dissembled it and bent the metal tabs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaQabJd3...). Still "clicks" and shows the error message you described.
