How to replace Asus MeMo pad me172v digitizer

Hi,

Im looking to repair a broken asus memo pad digitizer.

Does anyone know how to open up the device and replace the digitizer?

I checked YouTube because I'll be replacing the screen on my me172 once it arrives from ebay. There was only one video and it wasn't the best. However , it looks like it is very similar to the 1st gen Nexus 7 which might be easier to find a guide on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toIhrEzHY... its a disassembly video but it gives you the gist on how to take it apart. I would also recommend finding a 1st gen Nexus 7 digitizer replacement video for cross reference as they are very similar.

Thanks for the link to the video, it makes this procedure look possible. That said, I see he uses a heat gun to loosen the glue from the tablet frame. Does anyone know if enough glue will remain when the new digitizer screen is put in place? If not, what kind of glue can / should be used?

The new digitizer should have adhesive on it. Just be sure to clean the bezel before attaching.
