I replaced the battery and now it wont turn on?

I recently used one of the guides to replace my battery. I put in the new battery fine, but after charging it wont turn on. When i plug the charger in the screen remains blank. Is it a problem with the battery or the iPod itself? Any suggestion?

Does the screen turn on at all? I'm suspecting that the screen isn't connected properly. Does the iPod make a sound when you plug it in?

Or is it just dead and not responding at all?

Check your conections for no shorting. Try cleaning the contacts with nailpolish remover and a cotton swab.
