How do you upgrade a OpenDirectory replica to an OD Master
Have a functioning OD Master and replica.
if the Master fails, how do we promote the replica?

In Server admin, under the open directory service, change the role to Master.

will this lose the settings that it gained as a replica?
It should not, Apple Calls this promoting the replica.
