Can the mid 2012 I/O board fit in the mid 2011 version?

I got the mid 2012 uppercase for my macbook air, but my macbook air is the 2011 version. Everything fits in perfectly and runs perfectly, except for the I/O board. It does fit in the laptop, but the connectors won't fit because of the upgrade to magsafe 2. Would it be possible to replace my mid 2011 I/O board (magsafe 1) with the 2012 I/O board (magsafe 2)?

The only difference I can see on the board is the placement for the camera cable socket. Everything else looks the same including the I/O cable & camera cable.

I need to replace my magsafe adapter anyway, so might as well do this upgrade if it's possible.
