No chime, display or anything else, only LED#1 is ON. WHY?
imac 21.5", intel i3, 3.06 Gz, mid 2010, EMC 2389
There was a short-circuit in the wall and my imac went off, since then it hasnt turned on I presumed it might be the PSU that stopped fucntioning during the short-circuit, so I went ahead and bought a new PSU and after assembling it nothing changed. Among the 4 diagnostic LEDs, only LED#1 is ON whilst the power cord is connected to the wall. LED#1 blinks once and stays ON when the cord is connected to wall and the power button is pressed, it continues to stay ON until the cord is pulled off of the wall.
However, holding down the power button and then connecting the power cord to the wall, makes the fans go in full speed, but still the LED#1 stays on whatsoever. I dont even know if the SMC resettin works in this state, i tried anyway, but no different outcomes.
After doing evrything i could, im convinced the logic board is experiencing some trickle voltage.
Buying a new board wud be easier, but being poor doesnt always come with the set of easy options, hence, i thought if anyone with better knowledge and experience than mine could advice me on possiblity of fixing the trickle voltage situation in logic board.
Any advice would b greatly appreciated.
p.s. !@#$%^&*!@!! i need to write my thesis and m stuck with this pretentious ******* **** in the name of technology!
Is this a good question?
