My computer does not start

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1006el. When I turn on the computer many times will not start. LEDs next to the keys and uppercase Slip flash. rarely leaves regularly. This happens both on battery power that network. thanks for the help

Check the RAM slots in this computer. The computer behaves like this when there are NO memory slots installed. Just as well it might behave this way if the RAM is of an incorrect type or if you have two sticks of different types. 2G and 4G for example, but keep in mind that if you have sticks with identical size but different speeds, this can also be incorrect. If the ram is identical one may be damaged, try one of the sticks at a time or try a different stick altogether.
