Water Damage - Get data from SSD?

Hi all,

I have a Mid 2011 model Macbook Air, with a 256Gb SSD. It has recently been water damaged, and luckily my insurers aim to replace the laptop but not recover my data.

A query, if I remove the SSD, can I plug it into a PC using the standard mini SATA part to then back it all up to a removable hard drive for my new Air?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I won't be able to keep the SSD, therefore this isn't really the best solution for me.

I have to copy the data before handing the entire laptop over.

Get a OWC Envoy, then use your card as a backup: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/drive/enc...
