2005 Chrysler Crossfire Ignition Locks up

Keys are not worn, lock-ease (graphite-like) has been used, but the ignition seems to want to lock up and prevents being able to start it at times. Persistence usually prevails, but is frustrating. Can a remote starter be installed to by-pass the ignition? Car has a manual transmission and only 41,000 miles. Parts are nearly all Mercedes, since it was built during the association of the two companies.

You can't use a remote start on a standard transmission as there is no way to push the clutch or ensure it is out of gear.

As for the ignition, I'd first make sure the steering wheel isn't locked. If you don't know what I mean by a locked steering wheel, try turning the wheel a little to either side while turning the key. Sometimes that's all it takes. If not, you may just need to replace the ignition cylinder.
