You can sell the G5, it runs OSX 10.4/5 very well.

no, not the way you are thinking of.

there is no upgrade für your machine - the only way you could put in a core2duo would be replacing everything - that means your powermac is only the shell - but that would mean getting any running intel mac for parts and putting that stuff in the powermac - that would be kinda pointless.
