broken glass digitizer replacement

This is my first time into a ipad & I picked a mini. My first soldering of a flex connector went pretty well. My problem is the bottom inch of the digitizer, when holding the unit vertical, does nothing. Otherwise the digitizer seems to work well. Should I try to resolder the flex to the digitizer board. What end of the cable controls the very bottom of the digitizer.

What is the glue that is used in the unit,I have the double sided tape but the home button does not stay in place with it.

Thanks

Tom

Hey Tom,

That's a tricky one, I used to solder the iPad Mini's but then I had so much trouble that I switched to the parts that come with the IC chip already soldered on. So I don't know which end needs to be re-soldered, though.

The home button should work with double sided tape (If the tape is good quality). But if it doesn't work, then I use Loctite Ultra Gel on Amazon. This stuff works, but it isn't runny like normal superglue. One bottle lasts forever!

Make Shure glue can be heat reactivated cause it will ruine the frame for next replacement I use superglue on the double sided table works good also contact cement is the best it reactivated to heat but is messie

Your flex seems a a bad pin on connector try other assembly if no luck consider the connector on motherboard
