Sleep / Wake Button Not Responding

I accidentally tore the flex cable when replacing the screen.

The old cable was removed and a replacement installed.

The sleep / wake button does not respond. However, when I press Volume Up or Volume Down it takes a picture. So is it the power / sound / mute flex cable or the logic board or the power flex cable connecting the logic board to the motherboard?

Or?

Thomas,

I would guess that it's a bad cable. I would try a replacement from a different supplier. Or send the one you have back and see if you'll get a replacement.

I doubt it's the logic board. I would unplug the cable and then plug it back in and test. Look at the contacts on the connector, see if there are any signs of damage.

That's my best advice. You'll have to do some troubleshooting from here.

I hope that helps you some!

Hi,

Its definitely a bad adjustment of flex cable. Try not to go for a cheap flex as cheap flex usually have this kind of problem. I would suggest you to let a technician change a flex this time for you.

Good Luck
