Power button didn't work at first, now the MacBook shuts down
Hello,
2 weeks ago the power button on my laptop died. I turned it on with the power pads and it worked great as usual for 2 weeks.
Yesterday i returned home to find it shutdown and not able to start from the power pads. I got the chime and the screen with the apple logo and the rotating wheel underneath but it shutdown afterwards.
I cleared the ram, tried to boot from cd and recovery disk and it stayed with me until the installation step.
When i booted pressing T it got to the login screen but shut after i typed my password.
I am sure that there HASN'T been any liquid damage to my laptop and i don't understand why all these problem suddenly occurred.
Only solution i haven't tried yet is single user mode with fsck -fy.
I am curious why it could be a logicboard problem as it worked great as usual before. Could it be related to the small round battery on the logicboard next to the rams?
This site has been very helpful so far, thanks.
Is this a good question?
