CPU Usage Averages around 10A

Hi all,

I just installed iStat and noticed that my (generally always hot) MacBook Pro is consuming ~10A constantly. Does this sound like a faulty reading by iStat? Or does this explain the heat?

I should also note that the computer operates normally for the most part. Of course I feel like I remember the computer running faster/not as hot in the past ... but I haven't used this machine in some time.

I've attached a screenshot of the iStat readings.

That does seems to be running higher than it should. My 15" MBP I'm using right now is hovering around 2 A.

I would start by seeing what is running that is using CPU cycles as you could have something that is hung.
