iPod LCD not working after few tries and different items tested

The ipod was working perfectly, just the touchscreen was broken. Right now after the replacement the LCD is black (dead) i see no backlight etcc... I tried with 2 different LCD but nothing... the cable seems to be really weak but when i finally put it right on the connector it doesnt' work... This was a simple fixing but right now is a big problem... do you have any suggestions? Why the lcd is not working?? The ipod powers on and the computer recognize it...

THANKS!!!

Is your iPod recognized in iTunes when you plug it in? I had the same problem with mine. black screen, and iPod wasn't recognized by iTunes. I found the answer on this very website. By briefly grounding the positive terminal of the iPod battery then plugging in to a power source (after reassembly). it took a couple of minutes but mine came up and was recognized in iTunes. I still had the black screen though, it turned out to be the connection on the top of the logic board. The least little movement made the connector come loose and I had to be very careful when I set the digitizer to the iPod.
