Why does my XBOX 360 shut off during gameplay?

The last few times I have played a game on my xbox, the console shuts off completely. There aren't any red lights on the power button. The system was bought brand new a year and a half ago. Any help would be awesome.

try replacing the PSU first. if the problem persists,you'll need to open up the system and check for faults
