Why does it take so long to go to sleep?

My wife's MacBook Pro takes a frighteningly long time to go to sleep. There haven't been any other noticeable problems, just takes a long time to fall asleep. We just want to know if this is the sign of some other problem, or are we just in too big a hurry.

Many problems can cause MacBooks to shut down slowly. For example, you may know that your Mac disc is defragmented everytime you shut it down. The 1st thing you may try is booting on your recovery (Cmd+R on startup) partition and repairing both the rights and the disk on both your disk and partition with the Disk Utility.

Then, try cleaning all the temp files, restoring trees with softwares such as Onyx, which is free.

Hoping that I've helped you fixing your problem,
