Okay so, my moms phone got wet & it hasn't been working since the year started and were trying to get it back on . It would only come on for 4 minutes with the charger plugged in until I rest the settings now it just shows the dead battery sign when plugged up, but it won't charge do you think I can still fix it?

Desree, anything is possible. It is definitely going to be a chore. You may already have plenty of corrosion and there may even be permanent damage. I suggest that you no longer try to turn it on or try to charge it. Disassemble it using this guide and properly clean it. Use this guide to clean it. It was written for a 3G but all the points are still valid for your phone as well. Always check your board for any missing, burned or otherwise damaged looking components. After that replace the battery, reassemble your phone and re-evaluate for any problems. Hope this helps, good luck.

Absolutely. Many reparing stores co give a deoxidizer bath to your iPhone (around $50) and it may work again if there is nothing else. This worked fine for an old iPhone 4 incidentally dropped into water @ home.
