Display screen become gray and I cannot see anything

Hi guys.

Today i turned on my macbook and suddenly my screen became totally gray. The interesting part is that the mouse cursor is visible and when i were clicking on the buttons in the keyboard i heard his response sounds.

Thanks in advance.

It is more likely going to be a software glitch. is your dock visible, or is the screen completely grey besides the cursor?

i would first rule out a problem with your internal display by connecting an external display to the DVI port. see if this works.

then, i would boot from the install DVD that came with the machine and run a quick disk repair on your hard drive, then reboot and see how it responds.

let me know how you get on after these 2 things.

1: The screen is completely gray, the dock is not visible.

2: I tried the two cases. When i connect to external display, it shows nothing.

when i try to restore the system i see this picture
