Wanting to replace my inverter cable

Hello, I have had a problem with my screen going black yet the machine is still running. After a lot of reading I have come to the conclusion that it is my inverter cable. Is there a guild on replacing this cable anywhere?

Sarah, the mid 2009 does not have an inverter cable because it does not use an inverter per se. It uses LED backlight technology and as such uses a LED Driver board. If you can give us the last three digits of your serial number, it would allow us to properly identify your computer, and to help you a bit more. Anyhow, check this LED Driver and on here for the How To. This may of course change once we identified your computer better. Hope this helps, good luck.

Can you give us the last three digits of your serial number so we can see if we can better ID your system. Are you sure its the cable and/or inverter? Does an external display work when connected? If no then you have a GPU problem.
