Battery a1342 in MacBook a1278

Hi

have a macbook pro 1278 mid 2009 which does not boot anymore after a drop (apparently battery is not charging anymore)

have another macbook a1342 (white macbook)

I saw that the battery connector is the same and on both batteries they say (10,95V--60 W/h)

Is it possible to plug the a1342 battery to my macbook pro a1278 in order to check if things are still running or does it cause damages??

(I know it does not fit, but I just wanted to hold it in my hand while I'm trying to turn it on)

thanks in advance

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Both batteries have the same pinout.

You can use the A1342 battery in a A1278 without problems.

The problem here is that the battery does not fit in the A1278 case. You need to modify the battery case.

Furthermore the position of the cable is false. You need to extend the battery connector.

The last point is, that the fixing holes are on the false position. Use a double-sided tape to fix the battery.
