Why won't my PS3 read blu-ray?

I replaced my lens since it stop reading any kind of media and now it reads other media but not blu-ray. It attempts to spin the disc but will eventually stop. Sometimes it successfully read the disc but will freeze after a couple of minutes. This isn't happening with DVD or CD. Is it a bad replacement lens?
