Car is over heating

Car over heats, but not consistantly. It will go weeks without overheating, then overheat two days in a row. I have changed the thermostat and the coolant is full.

Have you had the radiator flushed (may need to do this more than once)? Either you have some junk blocking the core and/or hoses. Lastly, your pump is going or your core is in trouble.

If it is intermittent I would suspect the radiator. It doesn't take long to blow a head gasket if the engine over heats so it's best to find the fix before it gets really costly. Jack
