How to replace LCD rear cover

IBM ThinkPad X40:

I've read the X40 HMM(hardware maintenance manual) very carefully, and still not confident to replace the LCD rear cover.

Last week following the HMM, I replaced the hard drive with SSD(indeed with msata SSD + 1.8" msata IDE adapter). There were many steps(remove keyboard, palm rest, upper case, then can only touch the HD slot, and it was very easy to break some tiny plastic tips on the palm rest.

With the HMM, I know I have to do all the steps again to replace parts on the LCD Assembly(particular the LCD rear cover).

Any instructions available I can follow to skip over these steps and replace the LCD rear cover directly?

Mike Yue, the reason why you can notstep any of these steps is precisely this "There were many steps(remove keyboard, palm rest, upper case, then can only touch the HD slot, and it was very easy to break some tiny plastic tips on the palm rest." If you want to replace the cover properly, there are no shortcuts that you can take. Hope this helps, good luck.
