Can I change my PC to a 64 Bit System?

I have heard that I may be able to change my system to a 64bit from a 32bit, can this be done by changing only the processor or would I need any other parts in order for the change to work correctly?

Danny Johnson, your motherboard usually supports some CPUs and may not support others. If your motherboard supports a CPU which happens to be 64-bit then it is supported, but that doesn't mean that it will support all CPU's which are 32-bit. Sounds complicated but it all comes down to what models of CPU'S your motherboard supports. Check the manual for your motherboard and check on which CPU's are supported. Make sure that you realize that in order to take advantage of the 64bit architecture, that you have a 64 bit OS, drivers etc. For more information on this, read this article. Hope this helps, good luck.
