My iPhone speakers are not working

my step moms friend ranned over her iPhone 3gs, and she gave it to me, i switched the screens with a working iPhone (the speakers on the working iPhone worked) and it turned on, but i noticed that all my speakers were not working, i checked my mute button (off) turned my volume all the way up, and went in setting and turned silent off, and it still isn't working... i need help, i dont want to jailbreak my iPhone

Chosen Solution

Ashton, try to insert and remove the headphone in rapid succession a few times. This may loosen the part in the audio jack that detects your headphones. Also try to clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. It may think that the headphones are inserted, even so they are not. If that doesn't not work you may have to replace the headphone jack. For that, follow this guide. Hope this helps, good luck.
