What does the connector on top left of display panel do?

I have cracked display.

I bought new display panel but pinched and broke the left hand connector off of display assembly.

I re installed old display but display was damaged in removal. I can turn phone on and off, call it but can not see any icons. Can all the phone info still be retrieved?

Or should I buy another display assembly and install???

Buy a new screen....the left hand cable is the digatizer cable.

You can do a backup of you device on iTunes and restore on another device, BUT you can only do that by typing your phone password.
