APN 616-0347 compatible replacement

Hi guys,

I have an iPhone 3gs with original battery APN 616-0347 but this has had slight water damage to bottom of phone resulting in battery not holding charge. Will turn on when connected to power stuck in recovery mode and error 29 when trying to restore.

I have replaced the battery with APN 616-0435 but this also gives the same error 29.

Could anyone point me in the right direction as to what model battery would be compatible.

Kind regards

Paul

walshpjs2112, these should be the compatible batteries: 616-0431, 616-0432, 616-0433, 616-0434, and 616-0435. So it could be the battery, but this error can also be caused by security software (antivirus or firewall) on your computer interfering with the update. Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
